call me now

The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) has implemented the CO EV Fast-Charging Plazas Program to support the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the state. This program is part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) initiative and aims to create a network of fast-charging stations along designated EV corridors.

Important Details

Existing sites looking to upgrade to NEVI compliance are eligible to request fewer than 4 chargers.

Program Notes

  • This program is distinct from the Charge Ahead Colorado program.
  • Awarded applicants will enter into a contract with CEO for the construction term plus 5 years.
  • The program geography covers the entire state of Colorado.

Program Status

The rebate program is currently out of funding. Current funding is being provided through the NEVI program.

Bonus Incentives

  • Enhanced incentive of $25,000 per site where battery integrated storage is available.
  • An extra $45,000 per site incentive is available for sites with standalone storage.

NEVI Program Requirements

As part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, this rebate follows specific guidelines. While exact rules are set by each state, some general NEVI requirements include:

  • Chargers must be within one travel mile of designated EV corridors, with charging stations no more than 50 miles apart.
  • Charger ports must be compatible with all EVs sold in the U.S.
  • Projects must provide information on publicly available EV charging infrastructure.
  • All projects must follow Buy America standards.
