The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is set to launch the Washington Zero-emissions Access Program (ZAP) Grant to expand and create new carsharing programs in the state. The competitive grant is open to nonprofit organizations and local governments, including cities, counties, housing authorities, ports, and public transit agencies.

The program has a starting budget of $1.1 million for the 2023-2025 biennium, with awards ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 per project. Funds for non-government organizations must be used solely for the Carshare program. The grant cannot be combined with other competitive state public transportation grants.

Important Notes Grant is intended to expand and create new carsharing programs. Funds for non-government organizations must be used only for the Carshare program. Program confirmed if there is another call for applications, it would likely be in Spring 2025.
