Anaheim Public Utilities provides rebates for the installation of EV charging stations in different settings, including schools, multi-family residences, business fleets, and public access locations. In addition to the rebates, the utility also covers the City building permit fees associated with the EV charging stations.

Rebate Programs

1. EV Chargers for Schools

Rebate Type Eligibility Rebate Amount
Prescriptive
  • Schools recognized by the Orange County Department of Education or the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
  • Must be installed in another application
Lesser of:

  • $10,000 per Station
  • OR
  • 100% of Project Cost

Note: In addition to the rebate, Anaheim Public Utilities will pay the City building permit fees associated with the EV charging stations.

2. EV Chargers for Multi-family Income Qualified Residences

Prescriptive
  • Multi-unit dwelling locations serving income-qualified customers
  • As defined by the State of California Health and Safety Code Sections 50052.5 and 500531
  • And/or the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Must be installed in a multifamily application
Lesser of:

  • $7,500 per Station
  • OR
  • 100% of Project Cost

Note: In addition to the rebate, Anaheim Public Utilities will pay the City building permit fees associated with the EV charging stations.

3. EV Chargers for Business Fleets
